I can’t believe what a world this is.
What I’m seeing on the news is enough to darken views.
It would seem that we’ve lost all faith;
that we’ve thrown it all away, content with the decay.

But it doesn’t have to be like this.
We need to open up the door, and see what life is for.
Because I know that we are better than this;
and we have so much to lose but we have the power to choose.

I can’t believe what a world this is.
We would have much clearer skies, if we would see it through Your eyes.
I can’t imagine how all this makes You feel.
Do your tears fall from above, when we turn our backs on love?

I know you didn’t plan it like this.
You clearly showed the way. You lived it every day.
Now we must show that we’re better than this.
You didn’t suffer needless pain, and you didn’t die in vain
